| Abstract | O presente trabalho tem por objetivo sistematizar a aplicação de dados obtidos por imagens de sensores remotos na caracterização de feições denominadas anomalias morfoestruturais, consideradas como indicadores estruturais de possíveis trapas de hidrocarbonetos. A região em apreço situa-se no limite das bacias do Médio e Baixo Amazonas. A interpretação da rede de drenagem propiciou a identificação e a classificação das anomalias morfoestruturais, sendo realizada com base nos critérios previamente estabelecidos. Reconheceu-se, assim, cerca de trinta anomalias morfoestruturais, perfazendo um total de vinte domos, dois domos falhados, seis depressões estruturais, uma depressão estrutural falhada e uma estrutura em bloco basculado. Ademais, verificou-se que a disposição alinhada de algumas anomalias delineava importantes "trends" morfoestruturais na região de estudo, com orientação ENE e NNW. Por intermédio de uma análise estatística, foi possível caracterizar seis direções preferenciais de lineamentos na área em apreço (N20-30E, N40-50E, N60-70E, N15-25W, N60-70W e N05W-N05E), configurando faixas estruturais. Constatou-se que duas destas direções apresentaram boa correlação com os "trends" morfoestruturais definidos pelas anomalias. Tal fato é de extrema importância, considerando que estas feições alinhadas são aparentemente coincidentes com grandes estruturações do Pré-Cambriano, o que sugere uma reativação fanerozóica das zonas de fraqueza do embasamento. ABSTRACT: The main purpose of this study was to systematize the utilization of MSS-LANDSAT and RADAR imagery in the definition of morphostructural anomalies wich can be indicative of hydrocarbon entrapment sites in the limit of the Middle and Lower Amazonas basins. The identification and classification of the morphostructural anomalies were accomplished by means of the drainage network interpretation, based on the criteria previously proposed. Thirty anomalies were recognized in the area of study, being subdivided into twenty domes, two fault-controlled domes, six structural depressions, one fault-controlled structural depression and one structure developed on a tilted fault block. Many anomalies are not ramdomly located. Rather, they seem to be aligned according to directions ENE and NNW, suggesting the presence of morphostructural trends in this part of the Amazonas Basin. Significant orientations of lineaments were determined trough statistical analyses, which defined many regional trends: N20-30E, N40-50E, N60-70E, N15-25W, N60-70W and N05W-N05E. The directions N15-25W and N60-70E coincide with morphostructural trends' orientations and with the directions of important structures in the Precambrian basement. These observations seem to demonstrate that the ancient faults were rejuvenated during Phanerozoic times and that some of the younger fault systems are geometrically and perhaps genetically related to them. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
