| Abstract | O Projeto CANASATE - Mapeamento de cana por satelite tem por objetivo obter a distribuicao espacial e a estimativa de area da cultura da cana-de-acucar, ao nivel nacional, utilizando tecnicas de sensoriamento remoto. Para atingir este objetivo dividiu-se a regiao canavieira do Pais em tres areas, assim denominadas: AREA I: Rio de Janeiro, Sao Paulo e Parana; AREA II: Alagoas, Pernambuco, Paraiba e Rio Grande do Norte; e AREA III: as areas canavieiras de Minas Gerais, Espirito Santo, Goias e Mato Grosso do Sul. O presente relatorio refere-se, especificamente, a AREA I, cuja concentracao canavieira representa 60 de toda a cana plantada no Pais. Obtiveram-se os mapas tematicos, em numero de 23, na escala de 1: 250.000, a partir de imagens MSS e TM do satelite LANDSAT, referentes as datas de 1983 e 1984. Obteve-se, tambem, a estimativa de area de cana, por municipio e por Estado, cujos resultados ao nivel estadual foram os seguintes: Rio de Janeiro: 263.635 ha; Sao Paulo: 2.158.000 ha; Parana: 135.859 ha. A media de exatidao do mapeamento foi de 91. |
