| Abstract | Este trabalho avalia as potencialidades das imagens MSS do LANDSAT-1 (Ex ERTS-1), para propósitos de caracterização de solos, através da análise dos elementos como: vegetação natural, uso da terra, relevo e drenagem, que são apresentados na forma de esboços, e também a análise da tonalidade aparente nas imagens. Juntamente com esta análise é apresentada a metodologia utilizada para a interpretação desses elementos nas imagens. Respostas espectrais de diferentes grupos de solos foram obtidas no campo, laboratório e de imagens e apresentadas em tabelas e gráficos. São discutidas as correlações entre esses elementos e as ocorrências de diversos grupos de solos, nas duas áreas escolhidas correspondentes as regiões de Ribeirão Preto-SP, e Dourados-Amambaí-MT. ABSTRACT: This work evaluates the applicability of LANDSAT-1 images for soil mapping trough the analysis of elements such as, natural vegetation, land use relief and drainage. Maps were drawn based on these elements as well as the apparent tonality was analysed. The methodology employed to interpret the images is discussed. The spectral responses obtained from different great group of soils were measured by using ground radiometer espectrophotometer and "Image 100". The results are presented in tables and graphics. The correlation among these elements and soil types are discussed. The areas studied were Ribeirão Preto-SP and Dourados/Amambaí-MT. | ||||||
