Abstract | Este trabalho apresenta um procedimento metodológico para determinação de parâmetros de alagamento de reservatórios hidrelétricos. 0 metodo se baseia na geração de um Modelo Numérico de Terreno a partir de dados topográficos da região e na determinação dos limites do reservatório, informação extraída de imagens JERS-1/SAR. De posse destes dados, são determinados os parâmetros área e volume da represa em diferentes cotas de enchimento, através do uso de um sistema de informação geográfica, no caso, o Sistema de Processamento de Informação Georreferenciadas (SPRING). Os resultados obtidos sao referentes ao reservatório da Usina Hidrelétrica de Serra da Mesa, que se encontra em operação desde abril de 1998. Os valores encontrados apontam um erro sistemático de projeto da ordem de 30 por cento a menor em volume e área. Estes valores, se confirmados, indicam uma geração de energia aquém do valor projetado, bem como uma área de alagamento inferior ao inicialmente divulgado. ABSTRACT: This paper presents a method for the determination of flooding parameters in hydroelectrical reservoirs. The method is based on the integration of Digital Terrain Model (DTM)and Remote Sensing data derived from JERS-1/SAR. The area and volume of the reservoir, considering different water levels, were determined using SPRING, a Geographical Information System software developed by the National Institute for Space Research (INPE). The method was applied to the Serra da Mesa reservoir - which has been in operation since April 1998. The results showed a systematic error in reservoir project. The volume and area values are 30 percent smaller than those projected. The results, if validated, shows that the generation of energy is below the previously predicted, and that the flooding area is smaller than that announced. |
