AbstractApresenta-se uma revisão do histórico de desenvolvimento dos modelos de reflectância baseados na transferência radiativa em meios túrbidos. São abordados os desdobramentos e modificações desses modelos, desde a adaptação da teoria K-M a massa vegetais, passando às equações de Duntley, ao modelo AGR e, enfim, aos conhecidos modelos Suits e depois SAIL. Os modelos Suits e SAIL, consagrados em experimentos, calculam a reflectância da vegetação a partir de variáveis biofísicas e espectrais do dossel e de parâmetros relativos à geometria de iluminação/observação. A descrição dos dosséis vegetais é feita através dos índices de área de seus componentes, sobretudo área foliar, juntamente com a arquitetura da planta. Os dados espectrais dos componentes de dossel foram considerados fundamentais como base quantitativa para estudos sobre as relações espectro-agronômicas. ABSTRACT: A brief review on the development of the reflectance models based on radiative transfer in turbid medium is presented. The variants and modifications of these models are concerned, from the application of the K-M theory, the Duntley equations, the AGR model, to the well known Suits and SAIL models. Suits and SAIL models, tested in field trials, calculate the spectral reflectance of vegetation as a function of canopy biophysical and spectral parameters and of the viewing/illuminating geometry. The canopies are described through the area index of their components, mainly leaf area, with the plant architecture. Canopy single component spectral data were considered of great importance as quantitative basis for studies concerning spectral-agronomic relationships.
