                         investiga{\c{c}}{\~a}o destas rela{\c{c}}{\~o}es foi avaliado. 
                         O modelo SAIL calcula a reflect{\^a}ncia da vegeta{\c{c}}{\~a}o 
                         a partir de par{\^a}metros biof{\'{\i}}sicos e espectrais do 
                         dossel e de par{\^a}metros relativos a geometria de 
                         ilumina{\c{c}}{\~a}o/observa{\c{c}}{\~a}o. Os dados referem-se 
                         a 7 cultivares em 14 parcelas amostrais, localizadas em Planaltina 
                         (DF), sob manejo e irriga{\c{c}}{\~a}o uniformes. As medidas 
                         feitas com espectrorradi{\^o}metro abrangeram regi{\~o}es do 
                         vis{\'{\i}}vel e do infravermelho pr{\'o}ximo do espectro 
                         eletromagn{\'e}tico (de 547 a 823nm) e foram acompanhadas de 
                         levantamentos de dados agron{\^o}micos efetuados em 13 
                         {\'e}pocas ao longo do ciclo de desenvolvimento (maio a setembro 
                         de 1989). As reflect{\^a}ncias do vermelho e do infravermelho 
                         pr{\'o}ximo mostraram-se muito relacionadas ao IAF, atrav{\'e}s 
                         de regress{\~a}o logar{\'{\i}}tmica, principalmente antes do 
                         IAF m{\'a}ximo. As vari{\'a}veis levantadas no experimento foram 
                         aplicadas no modelo ap{\'o}s serem complementadas por dados da 
                         literatura e as simula{\c{c}}{\~o}es tiveram comportamento 
                         semelhante ao dos dados observados. Os dados espectrais dos 
                         componentes de dossel foram considerados fundamentais como base 
                         quantitativa para estudos sobre as rela{\c{c}}{\~o}es 
                         espectro-agronomicas. ABSTRACT: Experimental data and results of 
                         SAIL model supported a study relating the spectral reflectance of 
                         wheat canopies (Triticum aestivum, L.) to their biophysical 
                         parameters which included an evaluation of the model potential for 
                         investigating such relationships. The SAIL model calculates the 
                         spectral reflectance of vegetation as a function of canopy 
                         biophysical and spectral parameters and of the 
                         viewing/illuminating geometry. Data were taken over 7 varieties on 
                         14 plots, placed in Planaltina (DF), under homogeneous management 
                         and irrigation schedules. The measurements taken from 
                         spectroradiometer in the visible to the near-infrared portion of 
                         the electromagnetic spectrum (from 547 to 823nm) and the agronomic 
                         data were determined together on 13 dates throughout the growing 
                         season (from May to September, 1989). The red and the 
                         near-infrared reflectance showed strong relationship to the leaf 
                         area index (LAI) under logarithmic regression, mainly before LAI 
                         reaches its maximum. The model was applied with experimental field 
                         data complemented by data found in literature, and the model 
                         simulations and the measured data had similar behavior. Canopy 
                         single component spectral data were considered of great importance 
                         as quantitative basis for studies concerning spectral-agronomic 
                         relationships.",
