                         situa{\c{c}}{\~a}o desfavor{\'a}vel, em imagens obtidas em 
                         visada lateral com grandes {\^a}ngulos de inclina{\c{c}}{\~a}o 
                         e acentuados desn{\'{\i}}veis de altitude. As imagens assim 
                         corrigidas devem se superpor a uma carta topogr{\'a}fica na 
                         escala de 1:50.000. Para o desenvolvimento metodol{\'o}gico 
                         optou-se pelo sensor SPOT devido a possibilidade de visada 
                         lateral, caracter{\'{\i}}stica esta que acentua o 
                         {"}deslocamento devido ao relevo{"}. O processo de 
                         corre{\c{c}}{\~a}o faz uso de dados de efem{\'e}rides, 
                         atitudes, pontos de controle, equa{\c{c}}{\~o}es de 
                         colinearidade e de um modelo digital de eleva{\c{c}}{\~a}o. A 
                         implementa{\c{c}}{\~a}o e realizada em ambiente de 
                         microcomputadores com uso de v{\'a}rias fun{\c{c}}{\~o}es 
                         desenvolvidas para o Sistema de Tratamento de Imagens (SITIM) e 
                         Sistema de Informa{\c{c}}{\~o}es Geogr{\'a}ficas (SIG) do INPE. 
                         ABSTRACT: This work describes a theoretical and pratical 
                         methodology for geometric correction of satellite imagery 
                         including effects of relief. The methodology present here is 
                         applicable over the unfavourable situations, such as images 
                         obtained in lateral view with large inclination angle and 
                         pronounced height differences. The images already corrected must 
                         be supperposed to a topographic map at the scale of 1:50000 or 
                         smaller. The SPOT sensor has been chosen in face of the 
                         possibility of lateral views, which emphasizer the relief 
                         displacement.The correction process uses ephemeris and attitude 
                         data, ground control points, colllnearity equations and a digital 
                         elevation model. The implementation is done in a microcomputer 
                         environment and it uses some functions at the Image Processing 
                         System (SITIM) and the Geographic Information System (GIS) 
                         developed at the Brazilian Space Research Institute.",
