AbstractEste trabalho tem por objetivo avaliar os dados do satelite SPOT no levantamento de areas reflorestadas. A area de estudo (4.000,00 ha), localiza-se no municipio de Mogi-Guacu, Estado de Sao Paulo, Brasil, sendo reflorestada com P. elliottii,P. taeda, P. Patula, P. oocarpa, P. caribeae (Fazenda Campininha, Instituto Florestal de Sao Paulo)e E. grandis e E. saligna (Horto Santa Teresinha - Champion Papel e Celulose). A imagem utilizada foi aquela obtidapelo modo multiespectral XS (714-394), 15/06/86, em papel , composicao colorida 3, 2, 1, escala 1:100.000. Utilizou-se o procedimento de analise visual de imagens considerando os elementos classicos de fotointerpretacao convencional, tais como tonalidade, textura fotografica, forma, etc. para a identificacao das areas reflorestadas. As classes mapeadas foram Pinus-1 (P. elliottii, Pinus oocarpa), Pinus-2 (P. taeda, P. caribeae, P. Patula)e Euca-1 (Eucalyptus-spp)sendo que aprecisao de classificacao geral ficou em torno de 90. Os resultados alcancados revelam que as imagens SPOT sao muito uteis para a caracterizacao e mapeamento de areas reflorestadas.
